Police Raid on Prominent Biratnagar Industrialist Prakash Mundada's Premises Yields No Evidence, Sparks Business Community Concern

In a development that has sent ripples through Nepal's industrial and business circles, the residence and office of Prakash Mundada, a highly respected industrialist and former president of the Morang Industry and Commerce Association in Biratnagar, were subjected to an unexpected police raid on Monday morning. According to Morang Police, a confidential tip-off indicated that millions of rupees in undeclared funds were being hidden at Mundada's premises in Biratnagar-7. The objective was to uncover evidence of illicit financial transactions or undeclared assets.

Given the sensitive nature of the operation, Morang Police Chief SP Kavit Katwal personally led the team, which included DSPs Makendra Kumar Mishra, Santosh Shrestha, Lokendra Singh Guru, and Inspector Praveen Ghimire. SP Kavit Katwal later confirmed that the raid was indeed conducted based on a special tip regarding potential illegal cash. He stated, "We received specific intelligence about the possibility of illegal cash. Based on that, a detailed search was conducted, but the information could not be corroborated. Nothing was found."
