Prabhu Bank Unveils 'Prabhu Pravasi Samriddhi Home Loan Scheme' for Overseas Nepalis
Prabhu Bank Limited, a prominent financial institution in Nepal, has unveiled a significant new initiative, the 'Prabhu Pravasi Samriddhi Home Loan Scheme,' specifically designed to cater to the financial aspirations of Nepali citizens working and residing abroad. This strategic move aims to empower the vast Nepali diaspora by providing accessible, competitive, and convenient credit facilities for acquiring residential properties and land in their homeland.
The scheme is a testament to Prabhu Bank's commitment to supporting the economic well-being of overseas Nepalis, who are crucial contributors to the national economy through their remittances. Recognizing the long-term financial needs of this demographic, the bank has structured the scheme to facilitate the purchase of homes and apartments, construction or renovation of existing residences, and the acquisition of land. This comprehensive approach ensures that a wide range of housing-related financial requirements can be met.
Under the 'Prabhu Pravasi Samriddhi Home Loan Scheme,' eligible applicants can secure a substantial loan amount of up to NPR 30 million (3 Crore Nepali Rupees). The repayment tenure is remarkably flexible, extending up to 25 years, providing borrowers with ample time to manage their financial commitments comfortably. The loan comes with a competitive service charge of just 0.50% and an attractive interest rate set at the bank's average base rate plus an additional 0.50% per annum. These favorable terms are designed to make homeownership more attainable for Nepalis living abroad, encouraging them to invest in their future back home.
Beyond home loans, Prabhu Bank has integrated an invaluable educational loan facility into the scheme. This feature allows borrowers to secure financial assistance for the education of up to two children, whether they are studying in Nepal or abroad. The educational loan is offered at an interest rate of the average base rate plus 1.5% per annum, with an added benefit of a 50% discount on administrative fees. This dual-purpose scheme underscores the bank's holistic approach to supporting the diaspora's financial and familial needs.
To enhance convenience and accessibility, the 'Prabhu Pravasi Samriddhi Home Loan Scheme' will be available across Prabhu Bank's extensive network of 300 branches nationwide. Furthermore, as an incentive for new participants, the scheme offers complimentary debit card and mobile banking services for the first year, ensuring a seamless banking experience from the outset.
Prabhu Bank emphasizes that the introduction of this scheme is deeply rooted in the understanding of remittance's pivotal role in Nepal's economic landscape. By effectively channeling remittances through the formal banking system, the bank aims not only to fulfill the long-term financial needs of overseas Nepalis but also to contribute significantly to national economic growth. This initiative is expected to boost deposit growth, facilitate credit flow into productive sectors, and foster enduring customer relationships, thereby strengthening the overall financial ecosystem. The bank anticipates that this scheme will empower Nepalis abroad to build and acquire residential assets, securing a stable future for themselves and their families in Nepal, while simultaneously promoting financial inclusion and formalizing remittance inflows.
