The Financial Comptroller General Office, under the Ministry of Finance, has announced that federal government employees in Nepal will now be able to receive their salaries and allowances on a twice monthly basis.
Following policy guidelines issued by the Finance Minister on B.S. 2083/01/04, the government updated its official payment system to support bi-weekly salary distributions. Under this new arrangement, civil servants working in federal offices can receive their earnings, including employee incentive allowances, every 15 days instead of waiting for a single monthly payout. The decision was officially communicated on B.S. 2083/05/01 to all District Treasury Controller Offices, the Pension Management Office, and the Kumari Chowk and Central Collection Office. These regional offices have been directed to process funds and coordinate payments accordingly whenever federal agencies request semi-monthly salary releases.
