Rs 350 Purchase Wins Rs 10 Lakh Bumper Prize in Government Tax Incentive Prize Program

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) announced the second bi-weekly winners of the Taxpayer Incentive Prize Program. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle and Finance Secretary Dr. Ghanashyam Upadhyay declared the prize winners during a formal program organized at the Ministry of Finance.

A customer who purchased goods worth Rs 350 from Ganesh Electronics and Mobile Center won the grand bumper prize of Rs 10 lakh. This prize was selected from among consumers involved in compliant billing transactions conducted between Shrawan 16 and 31 (August 1 to 16). The tax department reported a massive surge in consumer participation during the first month of the scheme. A total of 357,149 cash transaction bills were submitted for the prize draw during the two week period from Shrawan 16 to 31 alone. In contrast, only 7,077 bill submissions were registered by consumers during the first 15 days of Shrawan.
