Rs 4.6 Arba Invested for Jaldigad Hydropower Project

A total investment of Rs. 4.60 arba has been secured for the 22.50 MW Jaldigad Hydropower Project to be developed in Aathbiskot Municipality of Rukum West.  Rastriya Banijya Bank, Nepal Bank, and Nepal Infrastructure Bank (NIFRA) will jointly provide Rs 3.36 arba in loans for the project promoted by Shangrila Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. The remaining Rs 1.23 arba will be financed through promoter equity.

The agreement was signed by Shangrila Hydropower Chairman Khagendra Neupane and Rastriya Banijya Bank CEO Devendra Raman Khanal. Representatives of Nepal Bank and NIFRA were also pre The project is expected to generate 133.45 GWh of electricity annually and has a construction period of 33 months. Most preparatory works, including land acquisition, have already been completed. The promoter group has previously developed the 4.55 MW Bikash Hydropower Project in Gorkha, which was completed around six months ahead of schedule. The group is also developing the 4.6 MW Budhigandaki Hydropower Project in Gorkha, which is targeted to begin power generation within the next six months.
